DEV SHETTY
Founder and CEO
Dev Shetty is a highly accomplished business leader and entrepreneur in the mining and coloured gemstones industry, with over two decades of experience driving successful turnarounds and growth for major mining companies.
In 2024, Dev founded Jemora Group, a UAE-headquartered business group that specialises in identifying high-potential undervalued assets, mainly in the energy transition metals mining, precious metals, and precious gemstones sectors.
As the founder and CEO of Fura Gems Inc., Dev have transformed the company from a single-person operation into a global leader in coloured gemstones, employing over 1,600 people and overseeing the mining of emeralds, rubies, and sapphires across Colombia, Mozambique, and Australia.
Previously, as a COO and Board Member at Gemfields, Dev played a pivotal role in turning the company from a loss-making entity into the world’s largest coloured gemstone mining company, achieving a market cap of USD 500 million during his tenure.
In addition to expertise in mining operations, Dev has made significant strides in marketing and brand building for the coloured gemstones sector, collaborating with renowned manufacturers, luxury brands, and gemstone laboratories to enhance the industry’s visibility and sustainability. Dev has also driven innovation with initiatives such as the mine-to-market program for origin-certified pink sapphires and blockchain-based provenance solutions.
Dev has also been part of a private equity house and has been instrumental in acquiring manganese, platinum and lithium mines. In 2024, Dev was awarded as an ICON of UAE Award, 2024.
Dev is a qualified Chartered Accountant from India (2003).
YOGITA VICHARE
Director, Group Operations
Yogita Vichare is a seasoned professional with over 20 years of experience spanning the gemstones and financial sectors. As Managing Director at Jemora Group, Yogita plays a pivotal role in shaping the organisation’s strategic direction, overseeing critical investments, mining projects, and driving branding and market expansion. She has been recognized as one of the “Global Inspirational Women in Mining” (WIM100) in 2022 and received the “Inspirational Woman in Mining (UAE)” award at the 2024 Retail Jeweller World Dubai Forum.
Prior to Jemora Group, Yogita was a Senior Management Team member (Chief Strategy Officer) of coloured gemstones mining company, Fura Gems Inc.
Before gemstones, Yogita built a decade-long career in the financial sector in London, working with prestigious institutions such as Goldman Sachs, RBS, and Barclays Capital. With expertise in banking regulations, compliance, and risk management, she specialized in credit, market, and operational risk, liaising with regulatory bodies like the FCA and PRA to ensure financial institutions met stringent compliance standards.
Yogita holds a Master’s in Business Administration from the UK (2007) and is a qualified Chartered Accountant from India (2005).
DR CÉDRIC SIMONET
Managing Director, Mining Investments
Dr. Cédric Simonet is a highly experienced geologist with over 25 years in mineral exploration, resource development, and mine operations. His expertise spans a broad portfolio of commodities including gold, rare earth elements, vanadium, nickel, tantalite, and fluorspar. He has worked extensively across Africa and Europe, notably on rare earth projects in Mozambique and Botswana, and fluorspar in France.
He is the founder of Altona Rare Earths PLC, and has held key leadership positions including Head Geologist and Open Pit Manager at SOGEREM (Alcan) and Africa Region Manager at IGE Resources AB, where he managed multi-country exploration programs and operational strategy.
Dr. Cédric is a Competent Person under the JORC Code and a Qualified Person under NI 43-101, certified to sign off on technical reports for global mining and exploration projects. He is also a registered member of the European Federation of Geologists (EurGeol No. 739), reflecting his adherence to the highest professional and ethical standards in geological practice.
With a proven record in both technical and strategic roles, Dr. Cédric brings a valuable combination of scientific expertise, regulatory knowledge, and project leadership to the mineral resources sector.
SHAYAN BHATTACHARYA
Director, Commercial and Trading
Shayan Bhattacharya is a senior supply chain and commercial executive with over 17 years of international experience in the non-ferrous metals and gemstone mining industries. His career spans strategic roles across Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, bringing both regional insight and operational expertise to complex global markets.
He spent over eight years in Europe before taking on leadership roles with Gemfields and subsequently Fura Gems, where he served as Global Head of Supply Chain. In these roles, he led cross-border logistics, vendor development, and value-chain optimization across upstream and downstream operations.
Shayan’s core capabilities include Commercial Due Diligence, strategic sourcing, and end-to-end supply chain management within high-value, regulated commodity environments. Known for his collaborative leadership and cross-cultural communication skills, he has successfully built stakeholder networks across varied geographies.
He holds an MBA, along with specialized qualifications in Supply Chain Management and Leadership Development, underscoring his commitment to operational excellence and strategic growth.
DEBADYUTI GURIA
Director, Mining Investments
Debadyuti Guria is a seasoned geologist with over 16 years of international experience spanning resource evaluation, exploration, and mine operations across a diverse range of commodities—including coal, iron, manganese, gold, lithium, tantalum, and pegmatite-hosted gemstones. A member of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (MAusIMM), he has led high-impact geological programs from greenfield discovery to production across multiple continents.
Renowned for his leadership on complex, multi-national projects, Debadyuti played a pivotal role in the discovery of the world’s largest ruby, “Estrella de Fura”, during his tenure as Head of Geology and Production at Fura Gems. In this capacity, he oversaw strategic planning, resource development, and operational optimization, applying advanced geological modeling and GIS technologies to drive project success.
Debadyuti holds a master’s degree in Applied Geology from the University of Calcutta, and is certified in JORC resource reporting, mine safety, and process optimization. His expertise blends technical proficiency with strong project management and cross-functional leadership.
Fluent in multiple languages and adept at engaging diverse stakeholders, Debadyuti brings a rare combination of technical depth, global exposure, and managerial capability to the mining and resource sector.
